Pathmeads, part of Genesis Housing Group, recently attended Ealing's Landlord Forum to promote their new HALS Direct scheme which delivers a homelessness prevention solution to Ealing Council.

Pathmeads had a stand at the Forum, the first to be held in over two years, and staff were on hand to speak with local landlords to explain and promote the new scheme.

HALS Direct helps local authorities to reduce the number of households living in temporary housing whilst still offering tenants a quality housing option. Under the scheme, tenants who present to local authorities as either homeless, threatened with homlessness, or in housing need can be offered properties that are managed by Pathmeads in the private rented sector. These properties are not considered temporary accommodation as there is no need for the local authority to accept a housing duty prior to the tenants moving into the property.

Under this scheme, Pathmeads procures high quality properties from the private rented sector for tenants, as well as providing them with a comprehensive housing management service. Should the tenancy end, Pathmeads will look to secure move on accommodation so that households do not re-present to the local authority.
